From Beneath The Blankets

The smell of the inks, the energy involved in working the plate, the feel of the paper and of course the magic of the press all play a role in printmaking's allure. There are always new challenges to be met, problems to be solved and unlimited possibilities. At the end of a printing session, it is always magical to find out what lies beneath the blankets.

Thanks for the nice words. This is the second time reference has been made to Kathe in terms of our work; I need to look into her more. Much of my own personal inspiration comes from Elizabeth Catlett and the Taller de Grafica Popular during the Mexican Revolution (Leopoldo Mendez, Diego Rivera, etc.).

YES! I hope you're enjoying the print. It was one of a series of a figure and dog. ALways good to connect with others working with photopolymer. I'm opening a public printmaking studio at the end of the summer dedicated to photopolymer work (and will also have some ferric chloride for etching, and of course monotype and anything else printable on a large etching press). Green Light Printmaking. I was also interested to read about your studio.

Melody,

Thanks for contacting me here. I read your message to me quickly and then added you as a friend--now I can't find your message anymore! I know you mentioned that you have one of my prints--which one? I'm enjoying looking at your work here--particularly the combined techniques prints and the body prints. I'll also check out your blog.
