Teaching with out a press! Ouch. Contact Joseph. He is involved with a new press manufacturer. Bare Naked Press Co. Don't be thrown by the name. They are good quality, fair priced etching presses. You can find the BNP site online or friend them on Inkteraction.
I does seem to be that way in the printmaking world. I last taught in fall 05 at the UW. Just after that I reluctantly went back to Full time as a Graphic Designer ( at UW) to pay for two kids in college. One down One to go. It was and is hard after 15 yrs of a part time to get art done. But I'm pressing on. (Oh, a pun) I will have my equalibrium back some day.
I would like to get my Mom up here to Madison but she won't go for it. So it's back and forth. Fewer trips when she heals. But Omaha is still in my future.
I believe you are correct! How has art and life been treating you? I've been driving back and forth to Omaha over the last month or so to visit my Mom after an illness. So I've been wearing grooves in I-80 through De Moines. You teach at GrandView College right?
I like your prints and paintings alot. Some day I'd like to try a solarplate etching.
PS I see you know Joseph V from drivebypress. He was a student of mine last time I taught and I did the driveby Logo for them.
I saw Rudy at last year's Southern Graphics Council. My daughter went to IU for Music, got married and now teaches there at the University School. I usually see Wendy when I visit (As I remember it, she came the year after you graduated). Sometimes during visits Wendy arranges a get together with Rudy and Dottie.
Marvin now lives in Tucson with his daughter Melissa (who with her husband teaches in the Dance program.) I see him 3-4 times a year, and call him occasionally. I am sorry to say that his mental and physical health is going down with each time I visit. see him,
Glad to see that you are making prints again, The works look great! Did you know Darla Masterson? She also lives in Tucson, and I see her about once or twice a year. She is friends with Nancy Hild, so I hear about her through Darla when I see her.
Thanks for the comment about my work. These works are a new direction for me. They are part of a show that is slated for April, and I am a long way from having the show ready. I am in need of some divine intervention.

I do still do solar plates from time to time when the process is right for my concept. Thanks for befriending me...
