Diana Eicher posted a discussionOver the past twenty-five years, I have worked in all these media: screenprinting, woodcut, intaglio, lithography, as well as painting and drawing, and I have also learned other specialized printmaking techniques as well. I was attracted to printmaking because of the processes and techniques necessary to reach the end result, as well as the community of the printmaking studio. I received my undergraduate degree in Painting from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and my MFA in Printmaking from the University of Hawaii. I have coordinated the Printmaking and Papermaking studios at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, in Minneapolis, MN, since 2003. I have also taught at MCAD: Screenprinting, Experimental Relief, Introduction to Printmaking, Japanese Woodcut and an Art Educator class using non-toxic inks. During graduate school, I studied at Tamarind Institute for a summer workshop in aluminum plate lithography. I have been invited to give a lecture and have a solo exhibition of my prints and papercuts in March 2012 at Donghua University, in Shanghai, China. A catalogue will be published with the art work in the exhibition.
